MEHDI RAHEMI

Mehdi Rahemi (b. 1979, Kashan) is an Iranian artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, and printmaking. He initially studied drawing and painting, with a focus on landscape and still life, before developing a broader practice centred on the human figure.

Rahemi’s works explore the shifting boundaries between the figure and its surrounding space. Rather than pursuing realistic representation, he uses painterly and graphic gestures, layered surfaces, and darker tonalities to allow human forms to emerge, dissolve, and merge with their surroundings. The human figure—particularly hands—recurs throughout his work as a central visual motif.

He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally, including exhibitions in Tehran and Shanghai, and has held a solo exhibition at Arthibition Gallery. He has also taught art in Kashan and published two books featuring his artistic work.
