MARYAM AMINI

Contemporary Iranian Artist

Biography

Maryam “Mimi” Amini (b. 1977, Isfahan, Iran) is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves across painting, drawing, collage, installation and performance. Her work is largely abstract, while figurative elements and invented forms remain present within her compositions.

Her practice explores ideas of selfhood, transformation and the relationship between body, mind and space. Over the years, she has developed works that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of painting, including cut-out canvases, three-dimensional works, installations and video.

Amini has presented numerous solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally. Her exhibitions include Eleven 11at Dastan+2 (2016) and Self-Studies in Flight Methods (2019), presented across three Tehran art spaces.
