BAHMAN MOHAMMADI

Bahman Mohammadi (b. 1985, Hamadan) is an Iranian visual artist whose practice examines the human condition through questions of birth, nurture, social structures, and evolution. His works often place the human figure within ambiguous situations, using representation as a starting point to consider how individuals are shaped by both natural and constructed environments.

Mohammadi studied painting at Shahed University and later received his MA in Painting from the University of Tehran in 2013. Across painting and mixed-media works, he has explored ideas of human development and transformation, including his Protozoan Self-Portrait series, which traces human evolution back to its earliest forms of life.

His work has been presented in more than fifty solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran, Etemad Gallery, Mah Art Gallery, Ethan Cohen Gallery in New York, and Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. He received recognition at the Iranian Painting Biennale and is a member of the Society of Iranian Painters. Mohammadi lives and works in Tehran.
