Biography
Amir-Nasr Kamgooyan (b. 1982, Tehran) is an Iranian artist whose practice developed through an ongoing engagement with printmaking and graphic processes. His work explores the relationship between organic life and mechanical systems, often bringing these two seemingly opposing forces into close and complex dialogue.
Kamgooyan studied graphic design and developed a particular interest in hand-printing techniques, including screen printing and photogravure. In 2006, he established his own printmaking workshop, continuing to work with the technical and material possibilities of print as an artistic medium.
His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally, including exhibitions and art fairs across Europe and the United States. He lives and works in Tehran.
