Biography

Rozita Sharafjahan (b. 1962, Tehran) is an Iranian contemporary sculptor, painter, and video artist whose multidisciplinary practice explores cultural memory, collective identity, and social and political realities. She holds a BA in Painting and an MA in Art Research from the University of Tehran. Sharafjahan is the founder and director of Azad Art Gallery in Tehran, which has supported experimental and contemporary artistic practices since its establishment. Her work has been presented in international exhibitions including the Shanghai Biennale, the Paris Triennial of International Contemporary Art, and exhibitions across Europe and Asia.
