REZA LAVASANI

Reza Lavassani (b. 1962, Tehran) is an Iranian painter, sculptor, illustrator, and stage designer whose practice draws on mythology, philosophy, mysticism, religion, and Persian literature. Working across painting and sculpture, he creates highly symbolic and imaginative forms inspired by poetry, mythology, and ancient Eastern traditions. Recurring motifs such as horses, birds, trees, waves, and other elements of nature are transformed into poetic and often fantastical compositions. Lavassani studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran and has exhibited extensively in Iran and internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, Art Dubai, Istanbul Contemporary, and numerous galleries and museums.
